The Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has expressed deep grief over the death of Professor Abul Kasem Fazlul Huq, a noted writer, researcher, academic, and intellectual. In a joint condolence message, party chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju and secretary general Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad described him as a courageous and uncompromising voice in Bangladesh’s intellectual sphere who dedicated his life to advancing national consciousness, democracy, justice, cultural dignity, and independent thought.
The leaders said Professor Huq stood firmly against fascism, authoritarianism, and restrictions on freedom of expression, never compromising in times of crisis. His writings and speeches, they noted, would continue to inspire younger generations toward free thinking, self-awareness, and democratic ideals. As a professor in the Department of Bangla at Dhaka University, president of Bangla Academy, and a distinguished author, he made significant contributions to the nation’s literature, culture, and education.
The AB Party leaders prayed for the departed soul and conveyed condolences to his bereaved family, colleagues, students, and admirers.
