Dhaka University and the Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh have expressed interest in strengthening academic cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries. The agreement was reached during a courtesy meeting between Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam and Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider at the Vice-Chancellor’s office on Tuesday. Both sides agreed to take necessary steps to expand education, research, and cultural collaboration, including faculty and student exchanges, joint research, semester exchange, and dual degree programs.

Following the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor and the High Commissioner visited the university’s Urdu Department and inaugurated a new computer lab and renovated classrooms established with the support of the Pakistan High Commission. The event was attended by faculty members, students, and officials. In their remarks, both leaders emphasized the importance of academic cooperation in strengthening historical and cultural ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The Pakistan High Commissioner noted that the new facilities reflect a shared commitment to education and youth development, while Dhaka University’s Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that such cooperation would continue to enhance research and learning opportunities.
