Abul Hossain Khan, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate and district BNP convener, has been unofficially elected as a Member of Parliament from the Barishal-6 (Bakerganj) constituency. According to the results, he secured 81,087 votes under the 'sheaf of paddy' symbol. His closest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Maulana Mahmudunnabi Talukdar, supported by the 11-party alliance, received 54,533 votes under the 'scales' symbol. Khan won by a margin of 1,999 votes.

Another contender, Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, obtained 26,554 votes under the 'hand fan' symbol. The constituency comprises 113 polling centers, one municipality, and 14 unions within Bakerganj upazila. The total number of registered voters stands at 315,597, including 160,055 men, 155,538 women, and four transgender voters.

The unofficial results indicate a BNP victory in Barishal-6, contributing to the party’s broader electoral performance across several constituencies mentioned in the same report.
