Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Atikul Islam has been accused of physically assaulting bus driver Ghulu Mia of Islam Paribahan in Muktagacha, Mymensingh. In protest, transport workers blocked the Mymensingh-Tangail highway for an hour by parking buses and trucks on the road. The incident reportedly took place during a dispute over a directive that restricted more than one bus from stopping at the terminal. While the driver and transport workers claim the UNO physically assaulted him, the UNO has denied the allegations.
