Dr. Atiq Mujahid, the candidate of the 11-party alliance and leader of the National Congress Party (NCP), has been unofficially declared the winner in the Kurigram-2 constituency during Bangladesh’s 13th national parliamentary election. The result, announced on Thursday, shows that Atiq received 156,503 votes, surpassing his nearest rival by 10,800 votes.

According to the report, the election was held across 205 polling centers in three upazilas—Phulbari, Rajarhat, and Kurigram Sadar—covering a total of 604,736 registered voters. Dr. Atiq Mujahid claimed on his Facebook page that he actually won by a margin of 15,000 votes and is currently in contact with the Kurigram returning officer regarding the discrepancy.

The result adds to the list of declared winners from various constituencies as unofficial results continue to emerge from across the country.
