Mohammad Jasim Uddin, the Gano Odhikar Parishad candidate for Cumilla-04 (Debidwar) constituency, alleged widespread vote rigging in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and demanded cancellation of the results and a re-election. Speaking at a press conference at Cumilla Press Club on Saturday, February 14, 2026, he claimed that irregularities, intimidation, and ballot manipulation had influenced the outcome. Jasim Uddin, who contested under the BNP-supported ‘Truck’ symbol, accused his rival, NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah’s supporters, of distributing illegal money in Subil and Mohanpur unions before the vote, with a related video circulating on social media.

He further alleged that armed demonstrations were carried out by the rival’s followers alongside Jamaat cadres, and eight individuals were detained with weapons in Padmakot village. On election day, his polling agents were reportedly expelled from several centers, and pre-stamped ballots were inserted into boxes before polls closed. Despite these incidents, he continued in the race but later boycotted the vote, calling the election a farce. Jasim Uddin urged the Election Commission to annul the results and hold a free and fair re-election.
