State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit announced that Bangladesh’s education system will undergo major changes. From class four, sports will become compulsory for all students, and a third language will be introduced alongside Bangla and English. He also stated that students unable to pursue higher education will have access to technical training to help them secure employment at home and abroad. Additionally, the government plans to make education free for girls up to the undergraduate level.

Amit made these remarks on Saturday evening in Jessore at an event organized by the Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust, where scholarships were awarded to meritorious children of journalists and financial aid was given to underprivileged journalists. He emphasized that the newly elected democratic government is committed to fulfilling public expectations following the fall of a fascist regime and urged journalists to engage in constructive criticism based on facts.
