A legal petition has been filed challenging the validity of the ordinance that dissolved the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and created two new entities: the Revenue Policy Division and the Revenue Administration Division. The petitioner, a lawyer, questioned the ordinance under Articles 26, 31, and 29(1) of the Constitution, arguing it is unconstitutional and beyond legal authority. The ordinance, issued on May 12, dissolved the NBR and the Internal Resources Division to form the two new departments tasked with revenue management and policy formulation.
