More than one hundred leaders and activists from the Awami League and the National Citizen Party (NCP) formally joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Daudkandi, Cumilla. The joining ceremony took place on Friday at the BNP’s municipal office, where the new members shook hands with Dr. Khondaker Maruf Hossain, a member of the BNP National Executive Committee and a Supreme Court lawyer.

The group was led by NCP’s Daudkandi municipal coordinator Md. Mohsin Bhuiyan and Awami League leader Md. Sakib Ahmed. During the event, both leaders stated that their decision was motivated by the current political situation, the movement to restore democracy, and their trust in the BNP’s electoral symbol. They expressed hope that a democratic and people-oriented government would be established under BNP leadership.

The event was presided over by Daudkandi municipal BNP convener Nur Mohammad Selim Sarkar and attended by several local BNP and affiliated organization leaders, including youth and cultural wings.
