Railway police in Ishwardi, Pabna, recovered 725 grams of heroin worth about Tk 7.25 million during a special anti-drug operation on the Dhaka–Rajshahi-bound Dhumketu Express on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The operation was conducted under the direction of Pakshi Railway District Superintendent of Police Md Mehedi Hasan and supervised by Rajshahi Railway Police Station.
Officers found a blue travel bag placed above seats 39 and 40 in coach Exta-2, which aroused suspicion. Ishwardi Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Ziaur Rahman confirmed the recovery and said an investigation is underway to identify and arrest those involved.
