Speaking virtually at Shahbagh, BNP Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman urged all parties to move beyond divisive and vindictive politics. “The people of Bangladesh now demand quality politics,” he said. Tarique highlighted the heavy toll of the anti-fascism movement, noting that more than 2,000 Chhatra Dal activists were arrested, with many killed or injured—including Chattogram leader Wasim. He called the young generation the architects of future Bangladesh, stating, “Our nation will be built on your intelligence and the wisdom of our elders.” He affirmed that no amount of state repression could suppress the movement.
