At least 54 cases have been filed in Siddhirganj in connection with recent violent clashes and casualties during the ongoing mass uprising. Among the accused are former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, ministers, MPs from the previous government, and hundreds of central and local leaders and activists of the Awami League. Some individuals were reportedly named in the cases due to personal enmities. So far, police have arrested 68 individuals, but none of the cases have yet reached the charge-sheet stage, confirmed Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Shahinur Alam.
