In the 13th National Parliamentary Election, four candidates in the Bhola-3 (Tazumuddin-Lalmohan) constituency lost their security deposits after failing to secure one-eighth of the total votes cast. According to the district returning office, six candidates contested the seat, where BNP Standing Committee member Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram won with 145,990 votes. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami-backed 11-party alliance BDP candidate Muhammad Nizamul Haque Nayeem, received 57,351 votes.

The constituency had 388,550 registered voters, with 212,153 valid votes and 5,748 invalid ballots recorded across 120 polling centers, of which results from 119 centers were received. The forfeited candidates include Maulana Kamal Uddin (Plough) with 789 votes, Advocate Rahmat Ullah Selim (Helicopter) with 508 votes, and Tayebur Rahman (Truck) with 260 votes. Maulana Mosleh Uddin (Hand Fan) received 7,255 votes.

The report also noted that National Party’s Maulana Kamal Hossain had previously lost his deposit in the 12th parliamentary election as well.
