A case has been filed against three leaders of the BNP-backed Jatiyatabadi Chaluk Dal (Driver Group), including its central president, Jewel Khandaker, on charges of extortion, vandalism, and looting. The accused are Jewel Khandaker, Shakil Khandaker, and Jasim Uddin. Plaintiff Iltutmish Saudagar stated that the case was filed under the directives of BNP leader Tareq Rahman. He emphasized that the party would take legal action against any members involved in criminal activities and that no one would be spared. The accused allegedly fabricated a story on March 4 to unlawfully enter the residence of Tanvir Imam’s ex-wife, the son of the late HT Imam, and carried out widespread looting.
