Iran blamed the United States for violating the ceasefire agreement. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said the 60-day period had been intended for discussions on lifting sanctions and Iran’s nuclear issue. He claimed that those talks effectively never began because the United States breached the terms of the agreement.

Tensions over the strategic Strait of Hormuz also intensified as the ceasefire ended. Iran said it had reached an understanding with Oman on ship movements through the strait. Trump, meanwhile, issued a stern warning over Iran’s position in the Strait of Hormuz. The developments have created renewed uncertainty over the prospects for long-term peace talks and raised concerns that conflict could spread further across the Middle East.
