Bangladesh’s Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed, speaking at the UNDP Annual Rule of Law Conference, called for global, regional, and national efforts to uphold the rule of law and human rights. Addressing the event virtually from New York, he highlighted the importance of justice, equality, and institutional reform. He also discussed Bangladesh’s judicial reform roadmap following the 2024 revolution and praised youth-led movements for justice. The Chief Justice urged the UN to support independent judiciaries and transformative legal changes in developing nations.
