Police in Kaliakoir recovered 570 sacks of looted Kataribhog rice and a truck that had been stolen from Sirajganj. The operation took place on Tuesday afternoon, when officers raided several warehouses in Kaliakoir Bazar and a location in Fulbaria’s KNB Bazar. Two individuals, Liton Sarker and Suman Sarker, were detained in connection with the incident.

According to police and local sources, the rice had been purchased in Sherpur, Bogura, and was being transported to Dhaka when the truck was intercepted at Kodda Mor in Sirajganj. Armed assailants blocked the vehicle with a private car, tied up the driver and helper, and abandoned them in a nearby field before fleeing with the truck. The owner of the rice, Mahbubur Rahman Sohel, filed a complaint with Shimla Police Station.

Based on information from Shimla police, Kaliakoir police used technology to trace and recover the stolen goods. A case is being prepared in connection with the incident.
