Jagannath University professor Rais Uddin stated that students have been protesting under the open sky for three days, demanding their rights, yet the government has made no effort to resolve the issue. “This could have been resolved on the first day if the authorities had the will,” he said. “Jagannath University is oppressed and deprived. We’ve reached a point of no return. If our demands are not met, Kakrail will become a new center for realizing public demands.” He warned that if the government established through the people’s blood resorts to threats, they will resist. Following earlier announcements, teachers and students are set to begin a mass hunger strike after Friday prayers.
