The Election Commission of Bangladesh announced that 59.44 percent of registered voters cast their ballots in the 13th parliamentary election. The figure was formally confirmed by the commission’s public relations director at the EC Secretariat on Friday at 11:30 a.m. The turnout rate was calculated based on data received from polling centers across the country, with only a few isolated centers yet to submit final figures.

According to Election Commission sources, the turnout in this election was about 18 percent higher than in the previous 12th parliamentary election. Officials attributed the increased voter participation to improved law and order conditions and better administrative preparedness during the polling process.

The commission stated that detailed center-wise statistics will be released later once all data are finalized.
