A Bangladeshi youth, Sohag Mia, 20, was killed in alleged firing by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) in the Chimtibil border area of Chunarughat, Habiganj. Sohag was identified as the son of Shafik Mia from the area.

His uncle, Abdul Kadir, said Sohag had gone to the border area in the morning to bring cattle, as he did regularly, when BSF personnel suddenly fired at him. Family members began searching after they could not find him.

Abdul Kadir and others later found Sohag lying in the border area and took him to Chunarughat উপজেলা Health Complex. The attending doctor, Sirajam Munira, declared him dead. Police prepared an inquest report and sent the body to the morgue.
