One person was killed and another injured after a passenger bus collided with a battery-powered autorickshaw in Madhupur, Tangail. The crash occurred around 5pm on Saturday near Kakraid bus stand on the Tangail-Mymensingh highway. The deceased was identified as Bechu Mia, 50, a resident of Ramkrishna village in Aushnara union of the upazila.

According to local sources, the passenger bus had departed from Mymensingh and collided with the autorickshaw after reaching the Kakraid bus stand area. Bechu, who was travelling in the autorickshaw, died at the scene. The source did not provide the identity or condition of the other injured person.

A Fire Service team arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident and recovered the body. Madhupur police station Officer-in-Charge AKM Fazlul Haque said the body would be handed over to the family after completion of legal procedures.
