Dhaka continues to struggle with hazardous air quality, ranking 7th among the world’s 125 most polluted cities, according to Swiss-based air quality monitoring organization IQAir.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) score for Dhaka currently stands at 122, which falls into the category deemed “unhealthy for sensitive groups.” Topping the list today is Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, with an AQI of 147, followed by Batam, Indonesia (139), and Delhi, India (139).
IQAir reports that prolonged exposure to such air conditions poses serious health risks, particularly to children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory issues.
