Rokeya Begum, a female Member of Parliament and mother of July uprising martyr child Jabir Ibrahim, stated that employees of the July Smriti Foundation have not received their salaries and allowances for the past three months. She made this demand for budget allocation during the general discussion on the proposed 2026–27 fiscal year budget in the 13th National Parliament session on Tuesday.
During her speech, Rokeya Begum also noted that although legal protection has been provided to the July fighters, they have not been given political protection. Her remarks highlighted the ongoing financial and institutional challenges faced by the foundation and its workers.
The issue was raised amid broader parliamentary discussions on the national budget, reflecting concerns about the welfare of organizations linked to historical movements and their recognition within state policy frameworks.
