Central Chhatra Shibir leader Jisan was rescued from Laksam, Cumilla, 23 hours after being abducted from Daudkandi. His elder brother, Advocate Russel Rafi, confirmed the rescue on Friday night, stating that Jisan’s physical condition was very critical. According to police, he was found at Laksam Railway Station and taken to a local hospital for initial treatment.
Jisan had returned from Dhaka to his home village in Daudkandi, Cumilla, on Thursday. He last contacted his father around 8 p.m., saying he had reached Daudkandi and would soon be home. His WhatsApp showed last online at 8:29 p.m., after which his phone was switched off and his Facebook account deactivated. Family members and associates could not locate him despite extensive searches, prompting his brother to file a complaint with the police.
Police officials confirmed the rescue operation and ongoing medical care, but no details were provided about the abductors or the motive behind the incident.
