Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) conducted a special eviction drive on Friday morning to remove illegal occupations at the ground level of the Mirpur-10 metro station on MRT Line-6. The operation took place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and targeted structures that were obstructing passenger movement and safety around the station area.
According to DMTCL, all illegal establishments causing hindrance to commuters were removed during the drive. The company also warned that similar operations will continue in the future to prevent further encroachments. The drive was led by DMTCL executive magistrates Shahjahan Ali, Zahidul Islam, and Nazrul Islam, with participation from Dhaka Metropolitan Police, RAB, Fire Service, Bangladesh Ansar, DESCO, WASA, and MRT Police.
Officials from Dhaka North City Corporation, including regional executive officer Kamal Uddin and DMTCL deputy general manager (administration) Md. Abu Hasan Siddique, were present, and the city corporation provided logistical support for the operation.
