The Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant's first unit is expected to go into operation by the end of 2025, according to Russian Ambassador Alexander V. Khokhin. Speaking at a Russia Day event in Dhaka, he highlighted the significance of the project during the 80th anniversary of WWII victory and Soviet nuclear industry. Built with Russian assistance via Rosatom, the 1,200 MW unit is in final preparations for trial operation, marking a milestone in Bangladesh’s energy and diplomatic ties with Russia.
