Dr. Ilias Molla, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate, has been elected as the Member of Parliament for the Faridpur-1 constituency. The results, announced shortly after midnight on Thursday, covered the three upazilas of Boalmari, Alfadanga, and Madhukhali. According to the Election Commission, voting took place continuously from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. across 197 centers, with polling reported as peaceful. Dr. Molla, contesting under the 'scales' symbol, secured victory by a margin of 28,775 votes over his nearest rival, Khandakar Nasirul Islam, who ran under the 'paddy sheaf' symbol.

In Boalmari, Dr. Molla received 68,434 votes against Nasirul Islam’s 58,631. In Alfadanga, the 'scales' symbol gained 29,809 votes compared to 14,154 for the 'paddy sheaf'. In Madhukhali, the 'scales' candidate obtained 56,779 votes, while his opponent received 53,502. The constituency had a total of 510,540 registered voters, including 259,335 men, 251,204 women, and one hijra voter.

Following the announcement, supporters held celebratory processions in several areas, with many voters describing the outcome as a historic change for the constituency.
