Chattogram-10 MP Saeed Al Noman said the prime minister issued important guidance to grassroots party leaders during a meeting in Chattogram on Sunday night. The discussion was held at the Radisson Blu hotel with leaders and activists from Chattogram metropolitan, north and south districts. Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed and Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury attended the meeting, which ran from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

Noman said the prime minister stressed that workers’ conduct and contributions shape the identity of the BNP. She called on members to adopt a mindset of public service, act positively for people’s benefit and maintain cordial relations in party activities. He said a democratic government becomes stronger when it works with the public and remains beside them, requiring harmony and consensus both within and outside the party.

Noman said an announcement on local government elections may come toward the end of the year, although no specific date has been set. If elections are announced, leaders were instructed to work unitedly for party candidates without divisions. CDA Chairman Belayet Hossain said the prime minister repeatedly emphasized unity to secure victory for a single party nominee. Leaders were also urged to avoid wrongdoing, improve the party and government’s image, and communicate development work and plans to the public.
