Imu Akter, 20, a mother of a six-month-old child, died in a CNG-related road accident in Tangail’s Sakhipur on Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred in the Sholapratima area on the Sakhipur-Gorai road, according to the report. She was travelling from Nalua toward Sakhipur in a CNG vehicle when the incident happened.

Eyewitnesses said the CNG had reached the northern side of Boali Bazar when Akter put her head outside the vehicle to spit. A speeding truck approaching from the opposite direction struck her, and she died at the scene. Akter was the daughter of rural medical practitioner Ilim Uddin of Ratanpur village in the upazila.

Sakhipur police station Officer-in-Charge Md Murad Hossain said the victim’s family took the body home after the accident. He said police had been sent to bring the body to the police station. Legal procedures would be completed after the body arrived at the station.
