Police in Nageshwari, Kurigram arrested two alleged top drug dealers for operating a yaba trade while monitoring police movements through CCTV cameras installed at their residence. The arrests took place late Monday night during a special operation led by Officer-in-Charge Abdullah-Hil-Zaman and Inspector (Investigation) Atikur Rahman. Authorities seized 51 yaba tablets, four CCTV cameras, a laptop, a DVR, a 43-inch monitor, two mobile phones, and two motorcycles used for drug transport.

The detainees were identified as Jalal Hossain Joy, 36, of Bidyutpara area, and Al Mamun Shuvo, 30, of Chamtarpara area. Police said both men had previous drug-related cases. The operation was conducted based on secret information, and the seized items included surveillance equipment from brands such as Hivision and Camtech.

A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act, and the two accused were sent to jail through the court. The Nageshwari police chief stated that the operation was part of the government’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs and online gambling, and similar drives will continue.
