In an interview with China's Xinhua News Agency, Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, emphasized the country's strong trade and economic ties with China. He highlighted Bangladesh's goal of national reconstruction and learning from China's development model. China has been Bangladesh's largest trade partner for 15 years, with nearly 1,000 Chinese companies operating in Bangladesh, creating over 550,000 jobs. Recently, Bangladeshi businesses have also begun entering the Chinese pharmaceutical market.
