Bangladesh’s Department of Youth Development has launched a nationwide artificial intelligence training programme under a project to improve the skills of information technology-literate youths through AI technology. Youth and Sports State Minister Aminul Haque inaugurated the programme on Sunday at Mom Inn Auditorium in Bogura. The announcement was reported on August 2, 2026.
Aminul Haque said the government is working to prepare young people for technology-driven workplaces through AI-based skills. He said the training would create opportunities for employment and self-employment. The minister also mentioned plans to establish 10 international-standard sports villages in different parts of the country, including Bogura.
Officials said 1,600 trainees, 25 from each of the country’s 64 districts, were selected for the first phase. Training will be conducted in 448 batches, with 25 participants in each batch. Each course will run for two months and include 50 classes totaling 300 hours. State Minister Mir Shahe Alam said the initiative could expand local employment opportunities, while State Minister Abdul Bari stressed regular participation to build skills.
