Bangladesh Railway has resumed regular train operations on the Dhaka–Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram–Cox’s Bazar, Cox’s Bazar–Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar–Dhaka routes after repairing flood-damaged tracks. The announcement was made on Sunday by Anisur Rahman, Director of Public Relations at Bangladesh Railway. The Tourist Express train departed from Chattogram for Cox’s Bazar at 1:30 p.m. on the same day, marking the restoration of services disrupted by heavy rainfall and flooding.
According to the railway authority, the section between Janalihat and Soloshahar stations had become unusable due to flooding but was quickly repaired once the situation improved. Bangladesh Railway expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers during the disruption. In Dhaka, heavy rain caused waterlogging on parts of the Tejgaon railway line, but train movement continued without major interruption.
The Dhaka division of Bangladesh Railway instructed train drivers to operate cautiously and reduce speed when necessary to ensure passenger safety amid ongoing weather concerns.
