BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has taken responsibility for Bibi Zahura, a woman from Feni who was divorced by her husband for casting her vote against his prohibition, along with her three children. On Saturday, February 14, representatives of the organization 'Amra BNP Poribar' visited Zahura’s husband’s house in Dharmapur village of Feni Sadar upazila to announce the decision. The group declared that BNP would bear the family’s living expenses and the children’s education costs.
According to the organization’s member secretary, agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithu, the initiative was taken under Tarique Rahman’s directive. A BNP delegation from Dhaka handed over financial assistance to Zahura and pledged to send monthly support for her family’s expenses. The group also announced plans to build a new house for Zahura soon. Local BNP leaders, including newly elected MP Rafiqul Alam Majnu and several national and municipal leaders, were present during the visit.
The BNP representatives also called on local residents to assist in restoring Zahura’s household and ensuring her family’s stability.
