Obayed Ullah Al Masud, chairman of Islami Bank, resigned on July 17 after being asked to step down by Bangladesh Bank’s Deputy Governor Dr. Md. Kabir Ahmad. The Central Bank had restructured Islami Bank’s board following the government change in August, appointing Al Masud based on recommendations.
