BNP candidate Sadiq Riaz Chowdhury has been unofficially declared the winner in the Dinajpur-2 constituency during Bangladesh’s 13th national parliamentary election. According to results from all 116 polling centers, he secured 170,226 votes, defeating his nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate A.K.M. Afzalul Anam, who received 133,042 votes. The results were announced on Thursday evening, February 12, 2026.
Voting for the 13th national parliamentary election began at 7:30 a.m. and continued until 4:30 p.m. across 42,779 centers nationwide. Alongside the parliamentary polls, a national referendum was also held on the same day. The unofficial results indicate a clear victory for the BNP candidate in Dinajpur-2.
The simultaneous conduct of both the parliamentary election and the referendum marked a significant political event across the country, with results from other constituencies also emerging later in the evening.
