Two members of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in Munshiganj district have been expelled for violating party discipline. The decision was announced on Sunday by the party’s Secretary General, Mia Golam Porwar. According to a press release from the party’s central publicity department, the expulsion was approved by the Jamaat Amir on July 5, 2026.
The expelled members are Maulana Monir Hossain from Sirajdikhan upazila, son of the late Abdur Rahim, and Maulana Aminul Islam Nasir from Sadar upazila, son of Fakhruddin Mia. Their membership, known as “rukuniyat,” has been revoked, and they have been removed from all organizational positions within Jamaat-e-Islami and its affiliated bodies.
The press release further clarified that from July 5 onward, neither of the two individuals holds any membership or position in Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami or any of its associated organizations.
