BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed stated the party does not condone mob behavior and remains committed to the rule of law. Speaking on the alleged mistreatment of former Chief Election Commissioner Nurul Huda, he said, “We expect that legal processes will be followed in his arrest and prosecution, and we do not support any degrading behavior toward him.”
He added, “If any BNP member is found involved in such conduct, disciplinary action will be taken following a thorough investigation.”
Salahuddin also criticized Nurul Huda for contributing to the erosion of democracy and the electoral system in Bangladesh, comparing him to former Chief Justice Khairul Haque.
