The Interim Government’s Advisory Council held a special meeting in Dhaka, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, where prayers were offered for the speedy recovery of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia. The meeting, led by Religious Adviser A. F. M. Khalid Hossain in prayers, also approved in principle and finally the draft of the Foreign Donations (Voluntary Activities) Regulation (Amendment) Ordinance 2025. The amendment simplifies NGO registration and relaxes conditions for releasing foreign donations, allowing up to 5 million taka annually without prior approval. Additionally, the draft Police Commission Ordinance 2025 was presented for further revision before final submission. Expatriate Welfare Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul informed the council that 24 Bangladeshis detained in the UAE following the July uprising would soon be released and return home within a few days.
