Masud Sayeedi, son of former MP Delwar Hossain Sayeedi and candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami, has won the Pirojpur-1 constituency in Bangladesh’s 13th national parliamentary election. According to unofficial results from all 167 polling centers, he secured victory by a margin of 26,473 votes over his sole opponent, BNP candidate Alomgir Hossain, who received 101,355 votes. The constituency, covering Pirojpur Sadar, Nazirpur, and Indurkani upazilas, had a total of 387,987 registered voters, with 241,335 casting ballots.
In Pirojpur-2, BNP’s Ahmed Sohel Manjur Suman, president of the party’s Bhandaia upazila unit, won unofficially with 106,387 votes, defeating Jamaat candidate Shamim Sayeedi, who received 97,143 votes. Meanwhile, in Pirojpur-3, BNP’s Ruhul Amin Dulal, president of Mathbaria upazila BNP, won with 63,132 votes, ahead of Islami Andolan’s Dr. Rustum Ali Farazi and NCP’s Dr. Shamim Hamidi.
These results reflect a mixed outcome for BNP and Jamaat in the Pirojpur region, with both parties securing key constituencies in the unofficial count.
