BNP leader Barkatullah Bulu has declared that individuals who deny Bangladesh’s Liberation War or reject Ziaur Rahman’s declaration of independence have no right to seek votes or engage in politics in the country.
Speaking at a rally, Bulu said domestic and international forces continue to oppose the BNP, with global attention fixed on Bangladesh due to its geopolitical importance. He stressed that the BNP is the only viable option to safeguard the nation.
Bulu criticized Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s formation of BAKSAL, which banned political parties, contrasting it with Ziaur Rahman’s decision to open the political space. He cautioned BNP members against behavior that could tarnish the image of the party, Shaheed Zia, or Tarique Rahman, warning that strict action would be taken against violators. “No hybrid elements should infiltrate BNP,” he added.
