Local officials confirmed the incident on Wednesday, stating that the plane veered off the runway and caught fire. The crash occurred at an airport in Marana, and both occupants of the aircraft died at the scene.
According to Marana Mayor Jon Post, the aircraft ignited after leaving the runway. City spokesperson Vic Hathaway said the plane carried two people whose identities have not yet been confirmed.
