Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon said Tk5 crore will be allocated from the education budget for talented Scout and Rover Scout students who achieved GPA-5 in SSC and HSC examinations. He announced the allocation on Wednesday morning as chief guest at a reception at the International Mother Language Institute auditorium in the capital.

The event honoured 580 Scout and Rover Scout students who earned GPA-5 in the 2025 SSC and HSC examinations. Bangladesh Scouts’ Special Events Department organises the annual reception. Each student received a medal, a congratulatory letter, set travel fare and Tk2,000 online. Milon said scouting teaches public service, leadership, love for people and sacrifice for the country.

The minister said work was also needed for students who did not achieve good results and that he would meet students who failed examinations in Kachua next Saturday. He said sports can develop leadership, ethics and discipline and help keep young people away from drugs and immorality. He also cited plans for school uniforms and mid-day meals for primary students, alongside curriculum additions including sports culture, learning happiness and technical education from Class Four.
