Nasiruddin Patwari, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizens' Party, accused the Sheikh family of using Gopalganj for their own gain, ignoring the welfare of ordinary citizens. Speaking at the Gopalganj leg of the ‘July March’, he said, “Mujib fled to Pakistan, Hasina fled to India—this family has left Bangladesh scarred.” Patwari emphasized that the NCP stands for inclusive democracy, not family rule. He urged the people of Gopalganj and the entire nation to join the NCP in forging a new political direction. Condemning the Chhatra League's attack, he declared that such political violence will have no place in the new Bangladesh.
