According to BGB sources, smugglers attempted to bring the liquor into Bangladesh through the Tawakucha area. When BGB personnel approached, the smugglers abandoned the van and fled the scene. No arrests were made during the operation.

Lieutenant Colonel Nurul Alam Bayezid, commanding officer of the 39 BGB Battalion, stated that the force is maintaining strict measures to prevent drug trafficking, smuggling, and illegal border crossings along the frontier.
