Seven people were killed and three others injured in two explosions in the mountainous semi-tribal area of Bannu district in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on June 20, 2026. District Police Officer Yasir Afridi confirmed the casualties and said security and law enforcement agencies immediately reached the scene. The blasts occurred in the Fang Musa Khel area, where two vehicles were targeted by remote-controlled explosives.
According to police statements, the first explosion hit a private car, killing five people as it was heading toward Domel. The vehicle was completely destroyed. The second explosion occurred about one kilometer away while the injured were being taken to a hospital, killing two more people and destroying another car. Witnesses corroborated the sequence of the two blasts.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Authorities have begun an investigation to determine those responsible for the attacks.
