An auto-rickshaw driver named Humayun Kabir (48) was killed in an attack over the distribution of Eid-ul-Adha meat in Boalmari, Faridpur on Monday. Kabir’s wife, Shiuli Begum, has filed a murder case against 25 individuals, naming Liakat Master—General Secretary of the local BNP-aligned Krishak Dal—as the prime accused. Local sources indicate that longstanding rivalry between two political factions, aligned with the Awami League and BNP, led to the deadly conflict during the meat distribution.
