Former U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized India’s tariff policies and expressed discontent over Elon Musk’s plans to set up a Tesla factory and showroom in India, according to NDTV.
Trump believes that allowing Tesla to manufacture in India would be “unfair” to the U.S. economy. He has previously stated that the U.S. should impose tariffs on India at the same rate as India imposes on American goods. While Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi objected to this approach, Trump has maintained a firm stance.
On the other hand, Musk remains focused on expanding Tesla’s presence in India, despite Trump’s opposition.
