Chuadanga district Chhatra League organising secretary Sanjid Ahmed has been arrested by district detective police in connection with cases over attacks during the July mass uprising. Police arrested him from Chuadanga town at 1am on Tuesday, according to the report published on August 5, 2026.

Police sources said Ahmed faces multiple cases, including one filed over alleged attacks on students during the uprising in August 2024. Chuadanga Sadar police station officer-in-charge Mizanur Rahman said Ahmed was an accused in an attack incident during the July movement and was arrested from the town.

Police said he is being shown arrested in the relevant cases and that further legal action is under way. The process of producing Ahmed before a court is also ongoing, authorities said.
