Gono Adhikar Parishad leader Abu Hanif has emphasized that reforms and justice for past genocides must take precedence over elections. "We want reforms to be completed swiftly and genuine progress made on prosecuting those responsible for the genocide. People of this country have been denied their right to vote for the past 15 years. That must change," he said.

Criticizing local governance, he stated, "Despite the presence of many Awami League leaders in Kishoreganj over the years, the area saw no real development. The entire state needs structural reform." He also highlighted the democratic role of Nurul Haque Nur and the Gono Adhikar Parishad’s ongoing struggle for change.
